The Kent County Department of Administration consists of the County Administrator's Office, Economic Development Office, Information Technology Office, Personnel Office, and Facilities Managment Division. These offices support the seven elected Levy Court Commissioners as well as other County departments and elected County offices by administering all County functions relating to employees and infrastructure. The Department of Administration is headed by the County Administrator who is the chief appointed officer of the County. His duties include advising Levy Court Commissioners on issues affecting Kent County and managing the day to day operations of county government. The County Administrator supervises all appointed department managers, provides direct oversight for the Information Technology, Economic Development, and Personnel offices, and coordinates the activities of all departments on behalf of Levy Court.  The Department of Administration provides for the security and general maintenance of all County buildings.

The Personnel Office is a strategic partner in the deployment and retention of high quality human resources among the six County departments and five elective offices.  Specifically, the Office provides employee recruitment and selection services, payroll services, employee benefit procurement and claims resolution services, risk management services, employee training and skill development services, and employee records management services.READ MORE...

The Kent County Public Information Officer handles request for public records as required by law pursuant to the Delaware Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), media inquiries, responds to constituent questions, and issues press releases. The Public Information Officer (PIO), serves as the spokesperson for the County, generates public relations campaigns to support various programs and activities, and works closely with all departments and Commissioners to communicate the County's civic involvements. 

The Kent County Information Technology Office is responsible for the computing activities of Kent County Levy Court Information Technology initiatives. Our mission is to analyze the strategic and tactical information management needs and recommend as well as implement projects which have the potential to yield a positive return on investment. Information Technology implements a variety of technology projects benefiting the County as well as maintaining the five Local Area Networks. 

The Kent County Economic Development & Business Assistance Office provides support services to existing businesses with a focus on business retention and expansion and strives to attract new businesses to Kent County with an emphasis on the targeted industries of Tourism, Education, Entrepreneurship, Health Care, Manufacturing and Agriculture.  The Office provides staff support and management oversight for the Kent Economic Partnership, a public not-for-profit corporation whose mission is the promotion of economic development initiatives in Kent County.
