Dover, DE – On Tuesday, July 2, 2013, from 5pm-8pm, in rooms 203, 220, and 221 at the Kent County Administration Complex located at 555 Bay Road, Dover, Kent County Department of Planning Services will hold a public outreach session to review modifications to the Flood Insurance Rate Maps.
Working in collaboration with Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), participants will be able to view a flood map of their property and ask questions and comment on the new Flood Insurance Study and Updated Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs).
Sarah Keifer, Director, Department of Planning Services for Kent County says, “The result of this new study shows that theses maps will be far more accurate. This study reveals increased impact for some properties but decreased impact for others. Property owners can check the impact on their individual lots at: http://maps.riskmap3.com/DE/Kent/.
