Garbage Collection: Residents receive weekly garbage collection, including "Bulk Item" service.
Recycling Collection: Residents receive weekly recycling collection.
Yard Waste Collection: In 2010 the State of Delaware implemented a "Yard Waste Co-Mingling Ban" that prohibits all residents from co-mingling yard waste with household trash. Yard waste is defined as "plant material that comes from lawn maintenance and other gardening and landscaping activities. This includes grass clippings, leaves, tree branches and limbs, brush, shrubs and bushes, Christmas trees, weeds and mulch.
Weekly Yard Waste collection occurs from April through November each year. There is no yard waste collection during December, January, February or March.
Yard Waste Collection will begin on Monday, April 2, 2012 and end on Friday, November 30, 2012.
Some communities voted for NO "Yard Waste Collection". Residents in these communities are responsible for disposal of their yard waste at the "Sandtown Landfill" or other yard waste disposal location or through a private lawn service company.
If your community does not have "Yard Waste Collection" residents may request the service be added. For information on how request
